Return

Phil Ball has returned. It should be no surprise that among the plethora of writers and journalists, he stands among the finest. His enquiries are nothing but pure brilliance and always has a critical opinion about a matter, whichever it is. His absence could be noted by many Soccernet users and while his replacement did a fairly good job, it was a mater of months to see him again posting with his natural wit and taste.

I really enjoy his weekly columns and some of his quotes are memorable. Strangely enough he missed one of the most dramatic seasons in the history of football, with Barcelona crowning in all fronts.

I will post the remaining U-21 UEFA tournament reviews as well as the Gold Cup, Arsenal's preseason and the ongoing season. I had a rough time on vacations and that is no excuse, dear reader, for such a delay in information. I will promptly resume tasks, since the World Cup is coming next year. Again, an apology and I suspect that around mid-September you will have the updated Arsenal weekly review. Until then, I will work on the remaining posts.

Cheers!

"And it's in!"

I am thrilled and honoured to welcome you to my brother's new blog. Although he has not made a post yet, the first step in doing so has taken place. Here at Deviations salute him, wish him the best of lucks and support him in his new enterprise. Good luck!

In other news today's matches were good. Torino held Inter while the late Torres show took place. I really think he is one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best. His talent is overwhelming.

Good job Lionel, you have thrown more than one hundred years of football tradition to the dump due to your incredible ignorance. How come the "best player in the world" can not be aware of such an extraordinary event? Well there is his love for the colours. The note highlights that he does not care for personal records, but I think as the selfish cunt he is, that he does not care at all in the team he has been playing his entire career.

You know dear reader that I am not a fan of any sport rather than football (maybe Boxing, and I respect Baseball). And today's "famous event" held many Mexicans stuck on their teles for five hours watching the Super Bowl. In any case I just watched the dull and boring planes (F-16, that you can actually watch in the evening news) and went to the park to play footie. By the way that video has a lot of red-neck propaganda: watch Generation Kill (soon I will be posting in that).

Now, dance with James Murphy and Pat Mahoney!!! It is a pitty that they have not showed here in Mexico. Looking forward to it.

Pure delight!

A handful of mediocre crosses, a scarcely defensive build-up and a poor physical shape summed up David Beckham's flamboyant debut against Arsenal's February Champions League rivals. Two for both teams with a double from both Pato and Vucinic gave us a good match, in the final satges above all.

In other results Hugo Sanchez's Almeria lost the two goal lead when his side faced Espanyol. It was a last-minute free-kick by Pareja that gave the visiting side the shared point. The dreams of Sanchez were shaterred and in that same country FCB faced Osasuna in a battle of a relegation placed team against the leader. It was a thrilling match that saw the Basque lead the scoreboard for nearly ten minutes. But the late show of Barsa forwards assured the home side missery.
It was nearly a perfect Sunday footy marathon, aside from the usual hangover, but seeing FCB loosing (even for ten minutes) is a pleasure that I could not miss. I am really sorry for the Basque, with all their supporters going mental against the hated Barsa. Cheers for them

Man Utd trashed Chelsea three-nil with an exciting performance from FIFA World Player of the Year CR7, even though he did not appear on the scoresheet. Finally I agree with Michael Carrick.
