Arsenal v. West Ham Utd 0-2 1/Jan/08

What I will call a controlled and quiet new year's day gift was the finishing of such nice evening. A pragmatic and aesthetic display combined with was apparently a give out by the away team. Mr. Wenger was asked on whether it was the calendar congestion or a tough home win against the other United. He said it was the remarkable effort of beating the unbeatable. Yes it was that but West Ham was RELUCTANT. A very common word used in this blog, by David Young and the resume of the Mexican football. In less than twenty minutes West Ham was finished by the overwhelming power that has characterized the Arsenal FC since the Frenchman took charge. An incredible and far 'crack' definition by Croatian Da Silva and a lucky and adventurous goal by 'Manu' Adebayor put down the hopes of United fans to sing their newly chant "Last team at Highbury, first at Emirates".
Really which I really enjoyed, of course with a couple sufferings by some attempts but everything under control by Manuel Almunia. The previously mentioned attempts were largely deployed on the set pieces. A reminiscence of what previous seasons was the danger of a foul, corner kick or even a throw in. The defense was neat, and the approaches of Gallas and Touré were a luxury in terms of attacking. Hoyte showed more attitude and seemed ready to fight for a place. Clichy is always amongst the best performances in the team. The game play that allowed the home team was neat. In the final third of the second half the possession was in 70%!! A real achievement in these days in modern football. The passing showed the talent of Cesc, Hleb and Tomás earning the Hey! from the stadium. Edoardo goal was pure technique. A display of pure forward skills. Really impressing, as the goal of Adebayor. A rare and mysterious effect took the ball in the direction of the net when hit the woodwork after being deflected a little by th e defender. Edoardo adaptation into EPL is taking its shape. Finally and after some tough critics even coming from me, he deserved the applause of the 60000 people behemoth.
I am sure that the club will earn at least two silverware trophies this season. I am not sure which one yet but at least a domestic cup (FA or Carling) and the EPL. Europe is, as I said in previous accounts, far and there is a long road between New Year's day and 21 of May. Anyway an away trip for the young guns to Burnsley on Sunday will prove the previous and as always we will expect the best.
